The Irish Workers' Republic

Late 1920's copy of James Connolly's works - Connolly lead the Irish Citizen Army a force made up out of socialists, republicans and trade unionists into the fight during the 1916 Easter Rising.  Many of these working class people had unsurprisingly spent some time in the British army and therefore there was a pool of trained former sergeants etc. available for helping to train people.
